New Stamp Sets!

By Trisha's Tidbits | Aug 14, 2009

Well, I’m finally posting my cards I made with the new Stampin’ Up stamp sets! It feels like ages ago that I ordered them. Finally, I got to ink them up and now post! Sometimes you just wonder, where does the time go? I remember I was so excited when I ordered these during the SU preorder. Then when Mr. Brown dropped them off, my mind was completely somewhere else and my poor stamp sets got neglected! But, here they are now…

I made this card for a wedding back in June.

And, this birthday card for a good friend.

I love both of these new sets and am happy that I got the chance to share them!

Good Ole San Francisco

By Trisha's Tidbits | Aug 5, 2009

I took a trip to San Francisco this past weekend and got do to one of my favorite things when I fly. That is, take aerial photos of the City from the plane. You never know which way the plane is going to fly during take off or landing or if the sky is going to be clear, so you just have to be ready for any possible shot. I took these with my point and shoot because I didn’t have my SLR with me and managed to get a few decent ones.

This was the first time I got a shot of Candlestick Park. I love how the orange just pops out when you’re in the sky!

I was happy with my shot of the Bay Bridge, Treasure Island and the Downtown SF all in the same view. Not bad.

And finally, the shot I’ve been waiting to get for several years, both towers of the Golden Gate Bridge. I got a picture of one tower during my flight to Paris, but this was the first time I was able to get both towers in the same photo! Although happy with my double tower achievement, I thought this photo turned out only “eh,” and my camera won’t be going to rest on anytime soon on future flights!

Thanks So Much & Make A Wish Cards

By Trisha's Tidbits | May 31, 2009

It’s almost time to start a brand new week, but before that happens, I wanted to share a couple of cards. They were both made using mostly Stampin’ Up supplies and Designer Series Paper.

For the first card, I used the Bella Rose DS paper with the Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss matching cardstock. I also used the oldie, but goodie, Riveting stamp set which is a former hostess set that is now retired. Other supplies used: Making Memories Flower Brads, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Choco Chip Ink, Nesting Circle Punches, Paper Piercer, and White Gel Pen.

For this next card which measures in at 3×3, I used the Sweet Always DS paper. I love the color combo of this set, which is Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, and Pink Pirouette. This is a simple and chic card made with minimal supplies. I used the Corner Round Punch, Chocochip Grossgrain, a Prima Flower and silver mini brad, and a rub on for the sentiment. Simple, cute, and just the way I like!

Thickers at Big Lots!

By Trisha's Tidbits | May 29, 2009

Enabler Alert:

Big Lots has Thickers! And MiniMarks! Both are $2 a pack. They had some other items that I passed on like Playhouse embellishments and ribbon, but here’s what I ended up with.

After reading a post on Two Peas on Wedenesday, I hopped in my car and headed to the Big Lots in my area, only for a big disappointment. No Thickers. I got the MiniMarks, but no Thickers. :( But, I went back last night to the one closest to me and they had them! Not quite the selection as I would have liked, but I’ll take $2 Thickers anyday.

If there’s a Big Lots near you and you like Thickers, you might want to head on over!

Scrap. Scrap. Scrap.

By Trisha's Tidbits | May 25, 2009

So my goal this weekend was to scrapbook and that’s exactly what I did. It feels great to have that caught up feeling. Although I’m nowhere near being caught up, I do feel like I made a dent. I had a lot of fun experimenting with different styles and products. I made some simple layouts and some busier ones. I’m not sure which ones I like the best, I guess it just depends on my mood.

On thing I can’t get enough of for sure though, is American Craft Thickers. Is a layout complete without them? Well, I didn’t use Thickers in all of these layouts, they are one of my favorite all time products and I just love using them! Here’s what I made with them:

Home Sweet Home.

By Trisha's Tidbits | May 22, 2009

It’s good to be home and almost back to a normal sleeping schedule post jet lag. I had a great time in Hong Kong, getting to experience the daily hustle and bustle that goes on over there. The weather was humid, but tolerable and besides a little bit of exhaust inhalation from being outside most of the time, the conditions were comfortable. I loved the shopping and all of the tasty, fruity snacks. I’ll be posting some of my pics in a few days once I’m finished sorting through them. There were so many fun and colorful things I took photos of and I can’t wait to share them!

On a scrappy note, I was able to complete some layouts (including one from my Paris trip!) before I left for Hong Kong. I got to play with the Pink Paislee kit I won too! Here they are:

That’s all for now…see you soon!

Happy Mother’s Day!

By Trisha's Tidbits | May 9, 2009

I just wanted to wish all the mothers out there a very Happy Mother’s Day! I know I’m a day early, but I’m flying out overseas to Hong Kong tomorrow. I’m happy to be spending Mother’s Day with my mom this year on a family trip!

I have several special people that I send cards to on Mother’s Day and I made these:

I used the Raspberry Tart Stampin’ Up DS Paper for this card and a Mother’s Day stamp I got from the Michaels $1 bin. I embossed the Mother’s Day sentiment with black EP and colored in the flowers with Copic Markers. I also used one of my Cuttlebug Embossing folders on the white strip, although it’s hard to see in the picture. And, I guess my vision was blurry when I took this picture because I didn’t realize that only one of cards was in focus until I saw a larger version of it on my computer screen!

Happy Mother’s Day wishes and see you when I get back!
