Happy Mother’s Day!

I just wanted to wish all the mothers out there a very Happy Mother’s Day! I know I’m a day early, but I’m flying out overseas to Hong Kong tomorrow. I’m happy to be spending Mother’s Day with my mom this year on a family trip!

I have several special people that I send cards to on Mother’s Day and I made these:

I used the Raspberry Tart Stampin’ Up DS Paper for this card and a Mother’s Day stamp I got from the Michaels $1 bin. I embossed the Mother’s Day sentiment with black EP and colored in the flowers with Copic Markers. I also used one of my Cuttlebug Embossing folders on the white strip, although it’s hard to see in the picture. And, I guess my vision was blurry when I took this picture because I didn’t realize that only one of cards was in focus until I saw a larger version of it on my computer screen!

Another Weekend…

Well, another weekend has come and gone. It was both productive and relaxing for me, so I’m happy about that. I read a lot of New Moon and am almost done. After I saw Twilight, I was hooked! I also caught up with the newest season of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” on my Tivo (I don’t know why, but I’m addicted to that show!) and got some crafting done. It was a good weekend.

And here are some layouts I wanted to share. These aren’t the layouts that I made this weekend, but I haven’t gotten the chance to share these on my blog yet, so here goes:

Monogram Favor Boxes

I love the look of monograms, so when I decorated these favor boxes, I knew I wanted to use them to add a great personal touch. The favor boxes are from Paper Source and decorated with Stampin’ Up supplies.

I used DS paper from the Bella Rose pack, the square scallop punch, Typeset Upper Alphabet set (retired), and the One of a Kind stamp set with coordinating punch. I was inspired to use this color combo, Tempting Turquoise and Chocolate Chip to match the tissue paper inside the box that was turquoise.

These boxes are really fun to make, but even more fun to give! The Paper Source has a bunch of different shaped boxes to choose from, so the next time you need to make party favors or a package for a small gift these are a perfect option.

Table Numbers

Supplies: Schoolbook Serif Alphabet stamp set; Cardstock: Turquoise, Groovy Guava, Whisper White; DCWV Patterned Paper; White Gel Pen; Creative Memories Circle Cutters; Uchida Giga Scallop Punch; Stampin’ Dimensionals; Times New Roman font

I got a request to make table numbers for my sister in law’s 16th birthday party last weekend. This ended up to be a hybrid project, as I created part of it digitally and part of it with paper. I wanted to surprise her by putting photos of her when she was a kid. I found a bunch of pics and resized them so they would fit in a 2.5″ circle. Then I printed the numbers in 300 pt. Times New Roman font. I printed all of this on an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of photo paper and then cut everything out. I used my paper snips to cut out the numbers and my Creative Memories circle cutters to cut out the pictures. I also cut out larger circles in white to nest the pictures and mounted both on my scallop punched from the Giga Scallop Punch.

The actuall table tent is 6″ x 12″, folded in half. The square part in the middle measures 4.5″ x 4.5″. I used DCWV patterned paper from The Stack, and stamped “table” with my new Schoolbook Serif Alphabet stamp set from SU. After I glued everything together, I adhered the numbers with dimensionals.

On the other side of the table tent, I printed out the names of the people sitting at each table. When you have a large party, seating assignments can make things so much easier! So, the next time you have a party, maybe you can make table numbers like these!
