Apple Cider Card Holder

For a change of pace away from holiday cards, here’s a tin card holder I made as a birthday gift for one of my downline. The tin is by Provocraft and I purchased it from Scrapbooks.com. I love getting stuff from that site!

I used the Apple Cider DS paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog (which is only available until this Friday), to decorate the tin. I used Modge Podge to adhere it and then applied a thin layer on top of the paper. Then I added the ribbon around the PP and started my decorating. I stamped the letter’s of “Nickey” in Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi. For “cards,” I embossed the letters with Winter White EP and then punched each letter out with the 3/4″ circle punch.

For the top part of the tin, I stamped the image with brown acrylic paint. I had never tried this technique before, but it worked quite well. When you use acrylic paint, you apply it with a foam brush. The final step was to embellish the handle with ribbon.

I made a matching 3 x 3 love note gift tag to go with the tin too.

These are the supplies I used:

Stamp sets: True Friend, Fun & Fast Notes, Letterpress, Typset Alphabet Lower
CS: Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Apple Cider DS Paper, Chocolate Chip 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon, 3/4″, 1 3/8″, & 1″ circle punches, Scallop Punch, paper piercer, white gel pen

More Perfect Presentation

By Trisha's Tidbits | Nov 28, 2007

Here’s another card for the holiday season with the Perfect Presentation stamp set. It’s a different look than the one I made yesterday with Certainly Celery and Real Red. I love how you can create so many different looks with just one stamp set! Just by switching up the colors or by adding some accessories, sometimes you wouldn’t even guess the two cards were from the same set! That’s why I love SU products so much though!

Anyways, here are the supplies I used:

Stamps: Perfect Presentation, Paisley background
CS: Certainly Celery, Real Red
Ink: Real Red, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Nesting Circle Punches, Word Window, Silver Mini Brads

Perfect Presentation

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! The holiday shopping season has officially begun and Christmas will here before you know it! To kick things off, here is a holiday card I made with the Level 2 hostess set, Perfect Presentation.

I made this card with the new In Colors, Purely Pomegranate, Soft Sky and Blue Bayou. This set totally grew on me. I wasn’t really excited about it when I first saw it, but as usual, the more samples I saw of it, the more I had to have it! To make the scalloped edges, I took off the paper guide of my corner punch and punched along the edge of the of the cardstock.

Here are the supplies I used:

Stamps: Perfect Presentation
CS: Basic Black, Purely Pomegranate, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Whisper White
Ink: Blue Bayou
Accessories: Corner Round Punch, Silver Eyelet, Purely Pomegranate & Black Grosgrain Ribbon

Thanks Card

By Trisha's Tidbits | Nov 20, 2007

Here’s a card I made with a color combo from the SU Color Coach. The color combo is: Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, and Always Artichoke. I used my 1 3/8″ circle punch to punch a circle on the So Saffron piece. Then I stamped my image and punched it out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch. Next, I punched a 1 3/8″ circle out of Pumpkin Pie and then punched the scallop around it.

TIP: When ever you want to punch a hole in the middle of the something, it’s easier to punch the inside out and then frame around the inside punch. It’s easier to center your inside punch in the frame that way.

The entire piece of So Saffron/Always Artichoke is mounted on Dimensionals.

Here are all of my supplies:

Stamps: True Friend, Typeset Alphabet Lower
CS: Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Always Artichoke
Ink: Black, Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Punch, 1 3/8″ & 1 1/4″ circle punches, Paper Piercer, Silver Brad, Dimensionals

Thanks for looking and have wonderful day!

Notecard Holder

By Trisha's Tidbits | Nov 20, 2007

I made this notecard holder for a hostess gift for one of my workshops. Inside has a set of 4 notecards and envelopes that I made with the Fabulous Flowers Set. The notecard holder is pretty simple to make from an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of CS. This notecard holder is one of my favorite gift items to make.

To make it, score:

– on the 11″ side: at 5 1/4″” and 5 3/4″
– on the 8.5″ side: at 2.5″

Then just fold your score lines and trim the middle of the inside flap. Decorate the notecard holder and tie a ribbon around to secure.

I decided to add a monogram to front of my set to personalize it for my hostess. I also used my Paper Pretties! That was a big thing for me to do since I was just saving and admiring them!

Here’s what I used:

Stamp Sets: Fabulous Flowers, Paisley, Letterpress, Label Classics
CS: Purely Pomegranate, River Rock, Basic Black
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Basic Black
Accessories: Paper Pretties, Black Grosgrain Ribbon

Time Well Spent

By Trisha's Tidbits | Nov 19, 2007

Well, here is a card with my new preview stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I finally got around to mounting the set and got a chance to play with it tonight! The stamp set is a 2 step stampin’ set and has 12 stamps in it. After getting this set, I can’t wait to see the new catalog! The new preview brochure is coming out very soon, so at least we’ll get a sneak peak at some of the goodies!

The set is called “Time Well Spent” and I think it’s really cute. My DH said the drawing style of the images reminds him of the Ziggy!

This card came together nicely for me. I got the new Papercrafts “Holiday Cards” issue today and was inspired by some of the card layouts in it. I also got a chance to practice my coloring with this card. I’m not the best at coloring, especially within those small lines, but I want to get better!

Anyways, here are the supplies I used for this one:

Stamps: Time Well Spent
CS: Groovy Guava, Tempting Turquoise
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: SU Markers, Celery Grosgrain, 1/2″ circle punch, dimensionals, Petals & Paisley DS Paper

A Fun Surprise

By Trisha's Tidbits | Nov 17, 2007

Yesterday, I received a special surprise from Stampin’ Up! It was a free, new stamp set from the new catalog that is coming out in January! As a thank you gift, Stampin’ Up sent all their demonstrator’s this free set! I’ll be playing with the set this weekend, so I’ll have some projects to show you soon!

One thing that Stampin’ Up knows is their demos LOVE getting free stamps! They aren’t making the promise to give us a free set every year, but last year we got a free set as a holiday gift too. I’m really looking forward to using my set new and now I’m super excited about the new catalog!
