Mother’s Day Card

By Trisha's Tidbits | Apr 30, 2008

Here’s another card I made for Mother’s Day. I always have a bunch of people to make Mother’s Day cards for and I like to make a different one for each person. For this card, I used the Circle of Friendship & One Of A Kind sets and the Ginger Blossoms DS Paper. I used a bunch of punches for this card also: the Marvey Mega Scallop Circle, SU Scallop, 1 3/8″ circle, 1″ Circle, Photo Corner, & 1/2″ circle punches. The other accessories: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, Silver Mini Brads, White Gel Pen, & Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This was a fun card to make!

Dahlia Fold Flower Card

By Trisha's Tidbits | Apr 28, 2008

The Dahila Fold isn’t a new technique, but it’s the first time I tried it. I started working on my Mother’s Day cards and I thought one of these flowers would look pretty! To learn how to make this, click here for a tutorial. That’s it for now, have a great day!

Make Your Own Transparency Overlays

By Trisha's Tidbits | Apr 25, 2008

The inspiration:

I thought of this idea when I saw these really cute transparency overlays by Hambly Screen Prints. I wanted to buy some and was just about to when I had this idea to make my own. The Hambly Overlays are really cute, but are around $3 a pop! With this technique, you can save some money by making your own. You’ll need blank transparencies (from the office supply store) and Stazon Ink and a stamp or stamps.

Here’s how I made the circle pattern on the lower left hand side:

Step 1:
Use your Coluzzle (or any other die cut circle) to cut a circle the size of your choice on a piece of scratch paper.

Step 2:

Position your circle on the transparency and adhere with removable tape so it won’t move.

Step 3:

Ink up your stamp with Stazon Ink and stamp along the outer edge of the paper circle, with the stamp overflowing to the transparency. Continue around the whole circle.

Step 4:

Remove the circle and voila!

Another Tip:

You can also use the wheel stamps with Stazon Ink to make full sheet transparencies. I wheeled my Rough Texture wheel over a strip of my transparency here, but you can also wheel it over a full sheet. I bought a blank wheel cartridge and filled it with black Stazon Ink.

Another Mini Album

By Trisha's Tidbits | Apr 23, 2008

I’m really loving making these mini albums as gifts! I made this one for my MIL for her bday. I decorated this one with the Bali Breeze DS paper and the Stampin’ Up felt flowers. The felt flowers are really great. The colors that are really vibrant, combined with the felt texture make them really “pop” on any project! Thanks for checking in!

Dare To Be Fabulous

By Trisha's Tidbits | Apr 22, 2008

I forgot to share with the project I made for SoCal Stamp Mania 5! I made it with one of my favorite sets in the Stampin’ Up catalog, Fabulous Flowers. To start the card, I inked up my So Swirly wheel with Soft Sky and rolled it on Whisper White to make my background. Then I ticket cornered the corners. I stamped the flower with Purely Pomegranate x3 and then punched them out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch which is nested on black punched with the 1 3/8″ punch. The circles are adhered with dimensionals and then the sentiment is stamped.

SoCal Stamp Mania 5

By Trisha's Tidbits | Apr 21, 2008

This weekend I attended the 5th annual SoCal Stamp Mania! This was my 2nd time attending the event, which is a huge shoebox swap held in SoCal for us crazy stamping ladies! The event was a lot of fun and it was great to see old friends and make new ones! To me, that’s really the best part about it! Pictured above are all of the goodies I came home with.

This is a picture of the doorprize I made. I got the idea from my downline, Nickey!

I was so lucky to win Taylor’s doorprize! She made this adorable box with cupcake candles inside!

I’m already looking forward to next year’s!

Happy Birthday Card

By Trisha's Tidbits | Apr 8, 2008

Well, I finally made another card! I’ve been working on a bunch of other projects lately so I haven’t had as much time for stamping/scrapping as I’d like. But, I was able to slip this one in. I realized I have so many supplies and patterened paper that I’ve accumulated over the years and haven’t used yet. It’s one of my goals this year to make a dent in all of the stuff I already have.

For this card, I used the Dirty Laundry papers I got a few years ago from KMA. It’s funny how you buy stuff, forget about it, and then find it again and it’s like you have new goodies to play with!

I also used some digi elements from a free scrapbooking kit I downloaded from Two Peas In A Bucket.

The other paper supplies I used are from Stampin’ Up: cardstock, black organza ribbon (retired), Three Flower Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Silver Mini Brads, and Warmest Regards stamp set (retired).

Thanks for checking in and have a great day!
